Monstrous Fangs from Dredge Incisors
Can anyone tell me the approximate percentage for getting a fang out of an incisor ??? (using a Superior Salvage Kit)
I need about 30 Monstrous fangs for my next armour, but don't really want to spend 35k at the trader. I was told by one gamer that there was about a 75% chance of getting one, but I haven't had any yet (although I've only salvaged 3 so far). Is it worth me buying say 100 Dredge Incisors and salvaging them ??? It would take at least 5 fangs (ie 5% salvage rate) to make it worthwhile, if I bought at 50g each. Any ideas/suggestions ??? Thanks |

well... I tried it out on the 18 I had.....superior salvage resulted in 36 bones..and NO fangs.....but then again I am pretty unlucky with those kinds of things.

They don't salvage into fangs, I am very sorry someone told you that!
Only bone I am afraid. Monstrous Fangs are a unique rare material that drop by themselves, they cannot be salvaged out of anything. |

I was just stating possibly where the OP got the idea......and I am not convinced since I was not able to salvage them into anything other than bone....

The original idea came from a guy that I was buying Jadeite Shards from last night.
Although when I checked it on Wiki, it seemed to back this idea up |

@Op: Guildwiki does say that they can be salvaged from dredge incisors, but there is no screenshot to back that claim up so it may or may not be true. |

It will depend on what is used to craft the item and apparently Naga skin (http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Naga_Longbow) is used fangs in the longbows. Since a naga skin can yield a fang, why couldn't a longbow made with said skin yield a fang? OP...Sounds like a good plan if there was a 5% chance that the salvage woould net you the fang. IMO, I don't think the salvage rate is that high. Last edited by gene terrodon; Sep 01, 2006 at 04:23 PM // 16:23.. |

the salvage rate is comparable to the rate of salvaging amber from amber weapons, or jadeite from jade weps.
VERY VERY LOW |

The salvage rate has to be low, because fangs are 1.5k at the trader
If the salvage rate was high or higher, fangs would cost much less than 1.5k. |

I have actually salvaged Fangs from a few different things. Alas, I don't remember what, but the fact that it was more than one item leads me to believe the salvage rate is a bit higher. Unless I was extremely lucky with those few items.
For the record, I've been exp. salvaging almost every Jade/Amber item I find (that's not gold), and I haven't got one shard of anything... and that's a lot of items, trust me! I say give it a try and find out yourself what the rate is. Save all the bone you get and cash it in when Nightfall is released, you should at the very least make your money back for the kits. "Should" being the opportune word here. |

arcanemacabre....I too have never gotten an amber....until today when I was out of space and salvaging just about everything in my bag......I was hoping for dust or wood which I actually had with me, but got an amber chunck instead....got some green daggers as well (thats 3 of them which I have no use for)......and no, I dont even OWN photoshop, nor am I capable of doing much more than a simple copy and paste.....so this is the real deal.
